Teaching law courses

Since the academic year 2016/2017, Michael Klos (1991) has been teaching law courses at Leiden University. Since December 2017, Klos has been working as a lecturer/researcher at the department of Encyclopedia of Law (‘Jurisprudence’) (Institute Metajuridica). Before that, Klos, as a student assistant, taught introductory courses to first-year students.

Teaching qualification

Klos obtained his Basic Education Qualification (BKO) in December 2019. Earlier, in June 2019, Klos received his Basic Teaching Qualification in English (BKE), which also allows him to give English-language lectures and working groups.

Klos teaches the propaedeutic course in Law (Introduction to Law, Foundations of Law and Methods and Techniques of Law) and is the coordinator of the elective course ‘Law & Literature: Reflection on Democracy and the Rule of Law’. He is involved in the design of the new elective course ‘Rule of Law and Democracy in (trans)national context’. Once a year, he teaches a part of the in-depth course ‘Law & Literature in the Legal PAO’.
